Caldera – Seam Agate Sterling Silver Necklace
This dramatic seam agate reminds me of lava flows as recently observed during volcanic activity in Hawaii. Dark glowing veins cut through lush green landscape. The name, caldera, refers to a bowl-shaped depression in the ground that forms when a volcano erupts and collapses.
I used a free form beading with wire technique to build the “south rim” of my formation. The accent crystals symbolize the genesis and release of minerals during volcanic activity. You can find peridot, citrine, smoky quartz, sunstone, carnelian and garnet among them.
It comes on a 17 in rolo chain that extends to 19 in with a heart links extension and a spring ring clasp. You will receive the necklace pictured.
